Great Race USA Rules

Travel
Teams will primarily use their own cars for transportation between the challenge points. Other forms of transportation may be required such as public transportation, and transportation provided by the race. Teams may never split up and take separate transportation. NO teams will be allowed to pickup passengers during the race. Any team using prohibited forms of transportation will be immediately disqualified.

On Course Assistance
Teams are encouraged to accept assistance throughout the challenge but are strictly forbidden to accept any on course assistance from a friend, colleague or family member. Failure to abide by this rule may result in disqualification.

Race Shirts
All race participants must wear the official Great Race USA event shirt. Our race shirt must be visible at all times during the race from start until teams cross the finish line. Participants may layer under their race shirt or in cold weather wear a sweater of jacket as long as the race shirt can been easily seen.

Prohibited Items
Phones or any electronic communication devices, maps, money or any items that may give a team an unfair advantage in completing the race. Cars & backpacks may be inspected.

Remain a Team
All teams must stay together during the entire race. If a team member is left behind or opts not to continue the race the entire team may be eliminated from the race.

Rules of the Road
All rules of the road will be followed. Any team breaking the speed limit, parking restrictions or any other motor vehicle law will be eliminated from the race. Remember there will be officials throughout the race to oversee these regulations.

Age Requirements
All participants in the Great Race USA must be at least 18 years of age except in our family races. All children participating in our family races must be at least 5 years of age.

Waiver
Each participant will be required to sign a release waiver as well as a waiver allowing Great Race USA to use your photos in any future publicity.

Cut-Off Time
Any team that has not completed the race at the 6 hour mark must report back to the original start of the race and check-in with race officials.

Results
To be officially ranked, teams must complete the entire race. The first team crossing the finish line that completes the challenges of the race will be ranked number one. The second team will be ranked number two and so on.

Misconduct
Play with honor
No team or member of a team may act in a way that will physically impede the progress of another team. Violation of this or any other rule of the race may result in elimination from this and future races.

Legalese
All decisions of the official of the Great Race USA are final. There is no right to appeal. These rules are subject to change without notice.
All Rules of the City and State including traffic laws must be adhered to at all times. Any team not abiding by these rules will be eliminated.
