Great Race USA Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be in great shape?
The Great Race USA combines a variety of challenges both mental &
physical. None of the challenges will require the need for extreme
physical fitness but may require physical exertion that may be to
extreme for some participants
Do I need to be familiar with the City in
which the race is being held?
It may be beneficial but not at all mandatory and race participants
will receive a city map to aid them on their journey. Part of the
fun is finding your way from point to point.
Will I need to follow a specific course to
complete the race?
No, it is up to each team to select the course that they feel is the
most direct to the next challenge or Pit Stop.
What form of transportation can our team
use?
Each team will provide their own car for the race. Teams may also
be directed to use public transportation or other forms of novility
transportation. Teams may not use, skateboard, rollerblades or any
other prohibited wheeled devices. All teams must follow the rules
of the road and will be disqualified if these rules are violated.
All teams must bring proof of their car insurance in order to participate
in the race.
What happens if there are other teams ahead
of ours at a challenge?
This happens often. You might be required to wait until the teams
ahead of you complete the challenge in order to begin your own. Race
officials will be on hand to assure that all teams remain in proper
order.
What if we get lost?
This might be part of the fun of the challenge of the race. Remember
Ask Ask Ask strangers along the route for assistance. You will find
your way.
What should I bring to the race?
Each team member should bring a backpack that includes items such
as sunglasses, water, snacks, hat, change of clothes, pen & notepad,
proof of car insurance, drivers license and an ID
What items are not allowed?
Teams may not bring cell phones, or any other electronic communication
devices, money, maps or road atlases. All backpacks will be inspected
prior to the race. Remember there are eyes everywhere so no cheating
please.
How long is the race?
Races last anywhere from 3 - 6 hours depending upon the needs of the
host organization.
Can our team form an alliance with other
teams?
Utilizing the help of the other teams is not only encouraged but recommended.
Do I need to sign a waiver and photo release in order to complete
in the race?
Yes, all teams must have all paper work complete prior to the start
of the race.
Can I still register if I do not have a prearranged
team?
Yes, individuals will be placed in teams by race officials.
Are there any restrictions to the genetic
makeup of a team?
No, that is your decision as long as all team members are at least
18 for an adult and at least 5 for a family race.
Can our teams wear costumes or hats?
Yes, make a statement but remember that your race shirt must be worn
at all times.

Sure, make it fun and help your team stand out in the crowd.
